New CEO for office equipment firm Ricoh Americas

The Story
Office equipment manufactuer Ricoh Americas Corporation announced that a new chief executive officer is taking the lead, according to NJ Biz.
Martin Brodigan is the new president and CEO of West Caldwell, N.J.-based Ricoh Americas Corporation's subsidiary, Ricoh U.S. His most recent role at the company was executive vice president and chief financial officer, and prior to that he was president and CEO of Ricoh Canada.
Brodigan succeeds Nori Goto, who the company said is returning to Japan to serve in an as yet unnamed position with parent company Ricoh Company Ltd.
Ricoh Americas Corporation manufactures, markets and supplies office equipment and electronics. Its products are sold under the brand names Ricoh, Lanier and Savin, and include digital copiers, fax machine, scanners, printers, cameras, multifunctional systems and related supplies.
The Research
Simultaneous to Brodigan’s promotion, Ricoh Americas Corporation appointed Dennis Dispenziere senior vice president and chief financial officer. Dispenziere will report directly to Brodigan.
As president and CEO, Brodigan oversees all of Ricoh Americas Corporation’s business divisions: Dealer, Business Solutions, Technology Services, Production Printing, People Excellence, Business Development, Customer Administration, Supply Chain Management and Performance Excellence.
Russell Marchette, public relations manager for Ricoh Americas Corporation, told WinmoEdge that the company currently works with three main agencies.
Westport, Conn.-based Altamira Communications and New York-based Gigante Vaz handle advertising needs for the company, and New York-based Peppercom is its public relations agency.
“I get a lot of calls from agencies, and you never know when things may change,” he said, adding that he welcomes approaches.
According to Nielsen Monitor-Plus, the company spent about $1.9 million on media in 2007, all of which was spent on national magazine ads.
The Direction
Marchette, who is very affable, vets potential partners and interested agencies should get on his radar first. He told WinmoEdge that one of Ricoh’s current agencies cold called the company two years prior to getting an assignment, and that he takes a “you never know” approach to fielding inquiries.
