Media Spend: Char-Broil spent almost $1.1 million on measured media last year, about half of what was spent in 2013, according to Kantar Media. In 2014, media was split 70/30 between cable TV and display.
Digital Breakdown: So far this year 78 standard ads and 93 high impact ads have run on 1,643 publishers (<1% mobile), 58% of which were placed programmatically compared to site direct. Interestingly, activity has been higher from July-Oct. than it was in the first half of the year. This is a departure from 2014, when display only ran when you’d expect – May-July.
However, like 2014 display continues to target sports and news sites primarily. Top sites include mensjournal.com, golfdigest.com, epicurious.com, si.com, bonappetit.com and realsimple.com.
