Female Media Opps: NBTY launches new campaign for Nature's Bounty (Score 74)

Opportunity: Launched the latest campaign from here). "Better Off Healthy," the first spot, touts Nature Bounty's Probiotic GX to maintain healthy digestion and avoid unwanted gas. Other spots will support other Nature's Bounty supplements, such as fish oil and nail, skin and hair supplements.
"Better Off Healthy, ""Treadmill" and "Model" debuted as :30-second TV spots on Oct. 10. According to iSpot, NBTY has spent $758,000 to air the spots thus far, targeting shows such as "Snapped," "Hunting Vintage," "Madea's Witness Protection," "Basketball Wives LA" and "Higher Learning [movie]." Remember that NBTY promoted CMO Andre Branch to president in May and moved Derek Bowen into the CMO position (more Havas would continue to handle media buying and planning, but new decision makers could choose to review the account in the near future, especially since media reviews tend to follow creative (and vice versa).
NBTY is the leading company in the saturated $11 billion vitamin industry, but its brands still get lost in the clutter. So, more new digital, TV and social media campaigns – both for the company and its individual brands – should deploy in the near future.
Digital Breakdown: Pathmatics reports that Nature's Bounty has spent $310,000 on 38 desktop ads this year (77.6 million impressions). Over half of these ads - 58% - were placed through DSP AppNexus and the remainder were placed mostly site direct (40%). Top desktop destinations include coupons.com, photobucket.com, healthline.com and Yahoo Homepage.
Nature's Bounty has also spent $78,000 on online video ads (6.8 million impressions) and $27,600 on mobile ads (7.2 million impressions). While the mobile impressions were bought the same way as desktop ads (above), video ads were purchased mostly through Google AdX + AdSense (76%).
