Update (2/1): We’ve received word that Langhorne, Pa-based VML, Kansas City also has landed new store opening projects and creative assignments. We’re still working to see how VML is involved on the media side since our source who supplied that info is highly reliable (maybe just traditional and/or strategy?)
In the meantime, digital sellers should add Vincodo to their prospecting list when engaging RTG. The media shop appears to be open to working with new partners, as well.

RTG spends about $180 million on measured media annually, skewing towards Q4/Q1, according to Kantar Media. So, look to secure offline and digital direct response dollars for the holidays and New Year, along with traditional retail holidays (company anniversary, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, etc.) Spot TV continues to make up over $100 million of a yearly spending, followed by newspapers at about $70 million.
Media Spend: RTG spent $137 million on measured media through the first three quarters of 2015, according to Kantar Media. Annual spending for 2014 and 2013 was about $180 million, with a 60/40 spot TV to print split. Note
Digital Breakdown: RTG's display presence skyrocketed last year, according to Moat. For the year, 1,343 standard ads and three high impact ads ran on almost 6,500 publishers (2% mobile), 99% of which were placed programmatically versus site direct. This was much higher than 2014, when only about 115 total ads appeared on 615 sites (1% mobile), 99% programmatic.
Last year, ads mostly targeted local news sites but entertainment and technology publishers were part of the mix too. Top sites included foxnews.com, wunderground.com, weather.com, maxpreps.com, eonline.com, nytimes.com, nbctimes.com and nbcsports.com.
