Multimedia Games picks Harrah's vet as new CMO
Electronic gaming manufacturer Multimedia Games Inc. announced the appointment of Ginny Shanks as the new chief marketing officer, according to the company
Shanks brings more than 25 years of marketing experience to the Austin, Texas-based company, including her most recent stint as senior vice president of brand management for Harrah’s Entertainment Inc., the world’s largest casino company and provider of branded casino entertainment.
There, she was responsible for enhancing the value of Caesars, Harrah’s and Horseshoe casinos, the company’s core brands. She also oversaw sports and entertainment marketing, strategic alliances, consumer insights, public relations and nationwide casino promotions.
Multimedia Games is a developer and supplier of gaming systems, content, electronic games and player terminals for the Native American gaming market, as well as for the casino, charity and international bingo, video lottery and sweepstakes markets.
President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Sanfilippo said that Shanks’ experience will prove to be very valuable to Multimedia Games
as it continues to develop and distribute new products to its consumers.
“Multimedia Games is a company with tremendous opportunities,” Shanks said in a statement. “It is my goal to continue to provide the highest level of products and service to our current customers while developing innovative strategies and building new relationships that will be the foundation for our long-term success.”
The company expressed confidence in Shanks’ abilities to add her successful casino management expertise to its senior management team.
Sanfilippo told WinmoEdge that it is still a bit too premature to discuss Shanks’ role because she hasn’t started yet, but said he would be willing to talk strategy after she has gotten her feet wet in her new position.
According to The List database, New York-based Jaffoni & Collins Incorporated is currently handling Multimedia Games’ investor and public relations efforts.
Agencies that are interested reaching out to Shanks should put Multimedia Games on a short term prospect list, giving her enough time to get comfortable in her new role. Keep in mind that Shanks has spent a considerable amount of time working in the casino and gaming industry, and is already joining the company with a slew of existing contacts to assist her with her transition to a new company.
