New Marketing, Licensing VP for Bally casino tech.

The Story
Bally Technologies Inc., manufacturer of slots, video machines and casino management tools announced the addition of Jean Venneman as its new vice president of product marketing and licensing, according to the company.
Venneman brings 18 years of gaming experience to her new role at the Las Vegas-based company. Just prior to joining Bally, she served as VP of external innovation and licensing at International Game Technologies, a company where she had risen to executive-level status having begun her career as a sales executive.
While there, Venneman secured a number of entertainment brand licenses and managed a team of engineers, product specialists, artists and mathematicians and also maintained productive relationships with entertainment companies like Sony Pictures Entertainment, CBS Entertainment, Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, Freemantle Media, HBO and Lucas Films.
During her tenure at IGT, Venneman was directly involved in the development and licensing of numerous trademarked or patented IGT slot products.
Bally Technologies designs, manufactures, operates and distributes advanced gaming devices, systems and technology solutions worldwide. Bally’s product line includes reel-spinning slot machines, video slots as well as lottery and central determination games and platforms.
Bally also offers an array of casino management, slot accounting, bonusing, cashless and table management solutions.
The Research
With notable experience in the gaming industry, Bally Technologies is hopeful that she’ll play a critical role as the company expands its licensed entertainment brands, brand libraries and overall product marketing.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Jean to Bally,” Vice President of Marketing Dan Savage said in a statement. “She is a proven leader with an outstanding gaming industry track record of success, having played a key role in the sales and development of several games and brands.”
Venneman said in a company release that she looks forward to helping Bally further enhance its position as a global leader in game technology.
“Bally Technologies’ 78-year history as the leading innovator in gaming and systems products speaks for itself,” she said in a statement. “I am excited to join Bally's tremendous team of professionals.”
Savage cited Venneman’s experience in strategic and tactical product planning and execution, as well as her wide array of contacts within the entertainment industry and overall success in forging licensing agreements as an essential asset to the company.
Her addition to the team comes about a month and a half after Bally Technologies announced its third quarter earnings, which reached a total of $191 million in revenue for the three months prior, and $583 million for the last nine months, which ended March 31.
“We are pleased with the progress of our strategic initiatives during the quarter, including international expansion, balance sheet management, systems leadership, new product initiatives and the announced sale of Rainbow Casino,” Chief Executive Officer Richard Haddrill said in the earnings call.
He added that Bally Technologies intends to further capitalize on the launch of its new series of premium participation games and the release of its ALPHA 2 proprietary gaming platform technology.
According to The List database, Berkeley, Calif.-based Addis Group Inc. has handled Bally’s brand strategy and designing since 2004.
The Nielsen Company reported that Bally Technologies spent about $10,000 on local newspaper ads in 2009.
