Midwest Media Opps: Belle Tire names Marc USA as AOR, first work slated for fall

Company: Belle Tire, headquartered in Allen Park, Mich. BT is a family-owned network of 98 tire and windshield replacement service centers located throughout Michigan and Ohio.
Opportunity: Named Marc USA as AOR. In this role, Marc will be responsible for brand strategy, creative development and production and media buying and planning. The first work from the agency is expected to break in October, so sellers in the Ohio and Michigan area should be reaching out now to secure revenue. Look for broadcast, print, digital and POS efforts from the brand intended to raise brand relevance, as well as attract new customers.
The agency change comes right at a year after Joe Gaulzetti was named marketing director for the chain.
Incumbent: Hocking Media, which handled media and buying for the last eight years.
Sponsorships: BT currently runs advertising and sponsorship during Detroit Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons games on Fox Sports Detroit and recently renewed this relationship. Specifically, its name and logo are featured in telecasts and as part of in-game branding.
Media Spend: According to Kantar Media, BT spent $3.9 million on measured media in 2015.
Digital Breakdown: Moat reports that BT has run 44 display ads on 191 publishers so far this year (1% mobile). Top ad destinations include: fox17online.com, wrestlinginc.com, kohls.com and freep.com (4% placed site direct versus 96% placed programmatically). BT has also run four high impact and three video ads this year (less than 1% placed site direct).
For the same period 2015, BT ran 26 display ads and one high impact ad on 407 publishers (4% mobile; 36% site direct).
Other Agency Wins: While this is the largest account Pittsburgh-based Marc has won this year, the agency's Chicago office was named AOR for Firehouse Subs late last year (more here).
