Digital, Radio Opps: Erbert & Gerbert's Sandwich Shops launches new campaign amid expansion

Company: Erbert & Gerbert's Sandwich Shops (E&G), Eau Claire, Wis. based quick-service restaurant franchise offering a menu of sub-style sandwiches, soups and sides.
Opportunity: E&G recently debuted its new brand positioning and "Live Flavorfully" campaign. The new campaign, which comes just as the franchise opens its 100th location, was created with the help of AOR Shine United. It is set to run across digital, radio, social media and in-store events.
New digital creative and radio spots emphasized the different intense flavors that E&G offers, directing customers in-store or to order online. The social media effort will focus on increasing lunch traffic, encouraging customers to get out of their #LunchRut. It will include a video, a photo series and a promotion where best (worst) lunch rut photos win a catered lunch for the workplace.
Erbert & Gerbert's ad presence has been low, but look for this to be the start of larger investments. Looking at E&G's store footprint, expect local/regional TV, direct response and out-of-homerevenue to be available in the more saturated Midwest and Northeast regions, particularly Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Sellers -- begin reaching out now to secure upcoming campaign dollars as they become available. Be sure to pitch high engagement millennial platforms, particularly those that will drive traffic during lunch. Minnesota and Wisconsin based sellers should have an advantage.
Digital Breakdown: Although E&G has had a very low digital display presence, most of its spending has gone towards desktop ads, while the remainder is allocated towards to mobile, Pathmatics reports. Desktop and mobile ads YTD have all been placed programmatically through Google AdX + AdSense.
