Male Media Opps: Topgolf expanding further nationwide

Company: Topgolf, headquartered in Dallas, TX, is a global golf entertainment complex with 26 locations, serving 8 million guests annually. Players hit golf balls containing computer microchips that track each shots accuracy and distance.
Opportunity: After naming Ignite Creative as national food and beverage AOR earlier this summer (more here), Topgolf continues to take big growth strides. The golf entertainment complex recently secured a five-year $175 million term loan and a $100 million revolving line of credit, which marks a $175 million increase to its previous arrangement. For those of you like me that don't like numbers, this basically means that Topgolf now has an extra $175 million of financial wiggle room. And, according to CFO William Davenport, this hefty allowance will be the driving force behind introducing Topgolf to more cities across the globe.
Coinciding with growth, expect marketing to become a higher priority. Thus far, the company's ad presence has been largely regional, relying primarily on social media and word-of-mouth, with some digital and radio advertising. Moving forward, look for larger traditional ad channels to work their way into the mix, as Topgolf enters new cities.
Initially, expect a spike in digital spending; already Pathmatics reports that, digital display spend since August is higher than it was for all previous months this year combined. This means that male-focused sellers should go after digital dollars, along with radio and sponsorship deals.
Currently, it looks The Marketing Arm is handling creative and social for the company. We have not confirmed whether its got buying and planning as well, but we will keep you posted if we hear anything.
