Campaign Imminent: Loews Hotels names new creative AOR ahead of peak travel season

Opportunity: After Mono and made them creative AOR. As AOR, Mono will handle creative work for Loews Hotels and Resorts, Loews Regency and the OE Collection brands, effective immediately. Duties will include a multi-channel integrated campaign for all three brands, which is expected to launch during Q2 2017.
Media was also part of the review, which was led by Avidan Strategies, but we are still working on figuring who (if anyone) has won the work. The review began just five months after George Fleck was appointed as brand and marketing SVP and Nicolas Hauvespre joined the company as marketing VP. both Fleck and Hauvespre came to Loews from Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
For 2016, most of Loews' display ads were deployed at the beginning for the year, so Q1 should be another heavy spend period for the boutique hotel chain. Specifically, look for regional ad revenue in the areas surrounding the chains' 23 locations, as well as buys that will reach a high-end, luxury audience of older millennial and Gen X travelers.
Incumbent: Catch, NY previously handled Loews creative work. The agency's contract expired at the end of 2015.
Media Spend: According to Kantar Media, Loews Hotels spent $16.4 million on measured media in 2015. Majority of this spend was allocated to search as (74.4%) and print ads (20.9%).
Digital Breakdown: Per Pathematics, Loews has spent $2.1 million on desktop, mobile and video ads this year, which have generated 491.2 million impressions. Loews' ad presence was highest in January, and has gradually decreased throughout 2016. About 30% percent of these ads were placed site direct, while 63% were placed through ad network Google AdX + Ad Sense.
Ads placed directly appeared on sites such as realtor.com, Publishers Clearing House and wikia.com. Programmatic ads were placed on youtube.com, imgur.com and The Weather Company.
For the same period 2015, Loews total digital spend was only $882,700 (89.5 million impressions).
